KENWOOD-WINERY

The Pagani winery stood on Kenwood’s site, 9592 Sonoma Highway, Kenwood in 1906. Today’s winery was established in 1970 around 22 acres of vineyards. The company are big buyers of grapes from nearby-Russian River, Alexander Valley and Sonoma Mountain, and can consequently make a wide range of distinctive varietal wines. They have access to regions sufficiently cool to grow pinot noir. Look for the Sonoma Series of Chardonnay 09, Pinot Gris 09 (stainless steel), Sauvignon Blanc 09 (stainless steel), Gewurztraminer 09 (sweet), Merlot 07, Pinot Noir 08, Zinfandel 07 and Cabernet 07. Then there is Sonoma Series Reserve comprising Sauvignon Blanc 09 (stainless steel), Chardonnay 08, Merlot 07, Pinot Noir 08, Zinfandel 06 and Cabernet 07. Kenwood have been buying from the Jack London Ranch for 30 years, a vineyard known for its red lava soils. So there are a Jack London range of wines: Merlot 06, Syrah 06, Zinfandel 07 and Cabernet 06 to be enjoyed.
