The Funded: 10 startups raised nearly $300M in late week rounds


Five Bay Area companies raised rounds of $35 million or more at week’s end when the total startup funding raised in the region neared $300 million. 

Here are the details:

 Color Genomics Inc., Burlingame, $80 million: This genetic health screening startup’s Series C funding came from General Catalyst Partners, Charles River Ventures, and Laurene Powell Jobs’ Emerson Collective. Read more here.

 ThoughtSpot Inc., Palo Alto, $60 million: Lightspeed Venture Partners led the Series C extension round for this search-driven analytics company. Read more here.

 Ripcord Inc., Hayward, $40 million: Icon Ventures led the Series B round for this company that uses AI and robotics to digitize enterprise records. Icon was joined by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Lux Capital and Silicon Valley Bank.

 Atreca Inc., Redwood City, $35 million: This biotechnology company’s Series B round includ ed funds from Wellington Management Company and Cormorant Asset Management.

• Unity Biotechnology Inc., Brisbane, $35 million: This biotechnology company is developing therapeutics it hopes will prevent, halt, or reverse numerous diseases of aging. The new money from Invus Opportunities, Three Lakes Partners, Cycad Group, COM Investments and Pivotal Alpha Limited brings its Series B funding total up to $151 million.

 Wine.com Inc., San Francisco, $15 million: This online wine retailer didn’t say who invested in its latest funding but it is majority owned by Baker Capital, a New York-based private equity firm.

 ZingBox Inc., Mountain View, $22 million: Dell Technologies Capital and Triventures led the Series B round for this startup whose software guards IoT devices from threats on the Internet.

 Immersv Inc., Emeryville, $10.5 million: Rogers Venture Partners led the Series A round for this interactive advertising platform for Mobile 360 and virtual reality. It was joined by investors including Foundation Capital, The Venture Reality Fund, Initial Capital, East Ventures, HTC Vive, MCJ Co. Ltd., GREE, i-mobile, Metaps and Gigi Levy.

 Petametrics Inc. (dba LiftIgniter), San Francisco, $6.4 million: Storm Venturesled the Series A round for this machine intelligence-powered personalization tool provider. It was joined by investors including Rincon Venture Partners, Revel Partners and NTT Docomo Ventures Inc.

 SVAcademy Inc., San Francisco, $2 million: Investors in this vocational program provider for technology sales and business development positions includ e Bloomberg Beta, Rethink Education, Precursor Ventures, Uprising Ventures, 500 Startups and WTI.
