About Amramp

Amramp’s beginnings go back to 1970 and a small producer of architectural metal items– such as stairs, rails, fire doors and security products– used by contractors and architects. In 1998, the company patented a modular ramp system that became the focus of their business– and later, their franchise program. In addition to renting and selling wheelchair ramps, Amramp franchisees offer other accessibility solutions such as lifts, automatic door openers and grab bars.

The Amramp Team manufactures our modular wheelchair ramps in historic Boston, Massachusetts. Take a look at the behind-the-scenes action in our video above.

We started more than 40 years ago as a producer of architectural metal items used by contractors and architects. We produced stairs, rails, fire doors and security products for doors and windows.

In 1998 we patented a unique modular ramp system that has become our signature product. We have expanded our product line to include other products that make life accessible.

Today, we have 45 locations and growing across the United States and Canada. Each of our locations has local inventory so we can accommodate your accessibility needs quickly.

Our franchise partners are accessibility specialists. Many have received the Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist designation from the Remodelers Council of the National Association of Home Builders in collaboration with AARP.

Amramp is an active member of the Manufacturers and Suppliers Council (MSC) of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO), and the National Association of Home Builders.

Supporting Communities

Every ramp we install changes someone’s life.

Amramp has a long history of partnering with community members to help increase accessibility for the most vulnerable of our population.

For many years we have worked with Ramp Access Made Possible by Students (RAMPS), an organization dedicated to installing ramps for mobility-impaired citizens in Richmond, Virginia, in yearly Ramp-a-Thons. Last year we worked with RAMPS to install 17 ramps in one weekend.

We also work with Rebuilding Together to build ramps all across the country.

In 2005, we provided an estimated $100,000 worth of ramps to improve accessibility for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. We have also worked with FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) to provide emergency ramps for many disaster recovery efforts, including after Hurricanes Isaac and Sandy, as well as after the tornadoes in the mid-West.
