Treasure Island Community Development (TICD) in partnership with the Treasure Island Development Authority (TIDA) are redeveloping Treasure Island with the goal of creating one of the most sustainable large development projects in the United States. The redevelopment plans contain a mix of land uses that promote both a new San Francisco neighborhood and a major new destination for local, regional, national and international visitors. The primary components of the land use plan are 8,000 residential units, approximately 300 acres of open space and recreation, new commercial opportunities for retail and office uses and adaptive reuse of the historic resources.
