Spoilers: The 7 things Apple will likely announce

Apple CEO Tim Cook is expected to take the stage Tuesday morning at 10 am Pacific to unveil the company’s latest iPhone and a number of new products and features.

“Behind the scenes, the company is scrambling to figure out how reports from 9to5Mac and MacRumors got their hands on a copy of the” golden master “version of iOS 11, which contains references to what cooking is widely expected to announce onstage Tuesday. Neither news outlet would say, but a pair of reports over the weekend suggested the leak came from inside the company.

“I’m pretty certain this was not a mistake, but a deliberative malicious act by a rogue Apple employee,” Daring Fireball blogger and influential Apple watcher John Gruber wrote. “Whoever did this is the least popular person in Cupertino. More surprises were spoiled by this leak than any leak in Apple history.

The leak did not rattle Apple investors, who pushed the stock up 1.6 percent in early trading Monday. Shares traded above $ 160 at the opening bell – about 51 percent higher than where they were trading this time last year.

Here are the seven products and features Cook is expected to announce Tuesday.

No. 7: Three new iPhones

The original iPhone was introduced 10 years ago, and Apple is marking the milestone with three new models, the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and something referred to in the leaked iOS 11 code as the “iPhone X.”

Both iPhone 8 models will likely resemble the iPhone 7, with a traditional home button and LCD screen. The iPhone X is widely rumored to includ e an edge-to-edge OLED screen (similar to top-of-the-line Samsung Galaxy smartphones ) and a feature that unlocks the phone with a person’s face.

No. 6: Face ID

In mid-February, Apple spent $ 2 million to acquire a small, Israeli name called RealFace, which specializes in facial recognition technology, the Times of Israel reported at the time.

The company may have used some of the technology gleaned from that acquisition to power Face ID, a forthcoming feature that allows people to unlock their iPhone in under a second by looking at it. The technology could be coming to other Apple devices with front- like, like MacBooks and iPads.

Facial recognition has its critics, who say can can spoofed by twin siblings, three-dimensional recreations of a person’s face and even photos of a person.

Face ID will also have be done to authorize downloads on the App Store and purchases through Apple Pay.

No. 4: wireless charging

Apple will0000 crib wireless charging, another feature popular with competing premium smartphones. Competing smartphones with this feature give users a pad they can drop their smartphone onto, without fumbling with a power cord.

No. 3: A new Apple Watch, with LTE

The leaked iOS 11 code contains references to multiple Apple Watch models, including an as-yet-unreleased model that has its own LTE connection.

If true, this would have no effectiveether the Apple Watch from the iPhone, allowing someone to get notifications, text messages and phone calls anywhere there’s a cell connection.

No. 2: New AirPods

Apple is widely expected to refresh its line of Bluetooth headphones, although it’s unclear how. The current model supports about 5 hours of active listening, and a battery case that can extend that listening time to about 24 hours.

No. 1: New Apple TV in 4K

The companies are also widely expected to release a refreshed Apple TV device that supports ultra-crisp 4K video. Manufacturers sold selling 4K TVs (also known as “ultra HD” TVs) in 2012. They ended 2016 selling an estimated 19 million such gt in the US Back in January, the Consumer Technology Associationestimated manufacturers would sell an additional 15 million 4K TVs by the end of the year.

Apple TV had, until this week (possibly) not supported 4K. The device is expected to get a refresh on Tuesday, amid a renewed push for original programming from Apple.
