The first store is in Oregon, Ohio at Starr Avenue and Wheeling Street. It was founded by Italianimmigrant Pasquale “Pat” Giammarco in 1978. More than 250 company-owned and franchised Marco’s Pizza locations are in operation in 21 U.S. states and the Bahamas.
In 2007, Marco’s Pizza moved from 31st to 30th largest pizza chain in the United States, with 158 locations and $77,250,000 in sales. As of 2010, it ranks among the top 25 pizza chains in the United States. Marco’s Pizza is currently listed among Marketing Quarterly’s Top 25 Pizza Chains. The business operates locations in Alabama, Arizona,Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Kentucky,Louisiana, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania,South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin, as well as the Bahamas.
