Umami Burger SoMa has a $65 burger now

In last week’s Scoop column, Belly Burgers chef-owner Tom Pizzica said he didn’t believe in the $13 burger. He probably shouldn’t head to the weeks-old  Umami Burger outpost in SoMa, where a $65 burger is now available.

Perfect for the hungry rich robber baron in your life, Umami Burger SoMa is now offering the M.N.O. Burger as part of its annual truffle menu. Those letters, in case you were wondering, stand for “Money’s No Object.”

Nearly the cost of an entire tasting menu at Rich Table or Commonwealth, the $65 hamburger sandwich has been on the menu at the King Street location since last week. It’s made with Bryan Flannery Wagyu Beef, and topped with a port reduction and freshly shaved white truffles. In New York, it’s also served with foie gras; the California version is obviously foie-free.  It’s available on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays in December at the King Street location.
