4) Jeff Bezos
Jeff Bezos started out by studying computer science and electrical engineering at Princeton University. After he graduated he worked on Wall Street, and in 1990 became the youngest senior vice president at the investment firm D.E. Shaw. Four years later Bezos quit to open Amazon.com. He started out in his garage with a few employees, where they began developing software. They soon expanded into a two-bedroom house and had 300 friends beta test the site. On July 16, 1995 Amazon.com opened. The site’s success was enormous. They had zero press promotion, but within 30 days Amazon sold books across the United States and 45 other countries. When other e-commerce sites started, Bezos continued to make Amazon prosper by offerings sales of CDs or videos. Now Amazon has become what we have today. An online store where we can buy or sell goods and because of this Jeff Bezos has become extremely successful and rich.
