CEO Doug Leeds

Doug Leeds is the CEO of Ask.com. He is responsible for developing, growing and managing a portfolio of worldwide media businesses and brands which include Ask.com, AskJeeves.com, About.com, Dictionary.com, Investopedia, PriceRunner, ConsumerSearch and Shop411.

Before returning to lead Ask, Doug served as the President and chief executive of Dictionary.com overseeing all businesses and brands (including Dictionary.com, Thesaurus.com, Reference.com and Word of the Day email) of one of the top destinations on the Internet.

Prior to leading Dictionary.com, Doug was Ask.com’s Chief Strategy Officer, overseeing Ask’s global business strategy, including corporate and business development.

Earlier, Doug ran Ask’s award-winning vertical search services including AskCity, mobile search, news search, blog search, maps and directions, and AskKids as Senior Vice President and General Manager, Vertical Search. Doug also managed Ask’s Bloglines group.

Before joining Ask, Doug spent five years at Yahoo! (including Overture Services), ending his tenure as Vice President, Global Product Justice, where he led the development of reputational products and services as well as product policy and legal compliance for all of Yahoo!’s products and services worldwide.

Earlier in his career, Doug held senior positions at mobile ISP OmniSky and mobile carrier Vodafone. He also founded BootSpace, an advertising software start-up, where he served as CEO.

Doug has previously served on the boards of Reply!, Quixey (observer), TRUSTe and the Mobile Marketing Association, where he was a founding board member.

He received his B.A. with high honors from the University of California, Berkeley and his JD, cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center, where he was an editor of the Georgetown Law Journal.
