Mountain View Delays San Antonio Center Decision

The Mountain View City Council on Tuesday night postponed deciding on a redevelopment for the San Antonio Shopping Center as it worked to review proposed changes by the developer, the Palo Alto Daily News reports.

The developer, Merlone Geier Partners, is proposing to replace the current Sears site on the corner of San Antonio Road and El Camino Real with a shopping center that would include a 330-unit apartment complex, a Safeway supermarket and other stores and restaurants.

Many of the proposed changes sought by the developer were in response to conditions the council asked for, such as giving rebates to apartment tenants who do not use their parking spaces.
