Portland-based Ankrom Moisan Architects has purchased San Francisco’s 10-employee Forum Design for an undisclosed price. The deal reflects AMA’s desire to establish a presence in S.F.’s architectural market.

The combined entity will employ 350 people across Portland, Seattle and San Francisco, reports the San Francisco Business Times.

AMA president Dave Heater praised Forum co-founder Warner Schmalz, emphasizing his decades-long experience. AMA plans to focus on designing mixed-use affordable and market-rate housing, as well as specialties such as student and senior housing. [SFBT]
