For their hard work, every hourly worker received a surprise bonus of $2,000 last year. O.C. Tanner is also big on showing its appreciation: On their work anniversary, employees receive a customized yearbook with photos from coworkers, friends, and family, as well as a personal message from company executives. Each retiree receives a keepsake box engraved with his or her career accomplishments, and filled with personal notes from other employees. “It’s not uncommon to hear clapping and cheering, because somebody is always being appreciated,” one employee said.
