San Francisco’s Pier 70 Project Up For Approvals 


Forest City’s Pier 70 project could be approved by San Francisco’s Planning Commission as early as Thursday, SocketSite reports. The Planning Commission will consider the final environmental impact report, zoning, special use district request and other key documentation of the project during its Thursday meeting. If approved, Pier 70 could break ground in 2018. The project is expected to take 10 to 15 years to complete.

The Pier 70 project could have between 1,645 and 3,025 residential units and 1.1M to 2.3M SF of commercial as well as up to 519K SF of retail, light industrial and art space. The development also will includ e over 3,000 parking spots and nine acres of open space. New buildings will be 50 feet to 90 feet tall and incorporated with rehabilitated buildings.
