We are Mike and Janet Johnston. As avid home cooks and bakers, we have always loved the idea of creating new blends and recipes to share with our family and friends. In 2004, we decided to combine our individual skills and experiences in marketing and in the retail spice industry to open the very first Savory Spice Shop in Denver, Colorado. After the immediate success of our shop, we decided to take our concept a step further and created a Savory Spice Shop website, allowing customers to purchase anything available in the store online. Building on the positive response to our Denver store and internet marketing, we were able to open a second shop. Since then our efforts have rapidly moved forward, with the help of employees, family members and professional colleagues, permitting us to open three more locations in the Denver area and offer franchise opportunities.

Savory Spice Shop offers a large variety of blends and spices. Our spices are ground fresh in weekly batches, so that we can offer the freshest possible product. Our more than 160 blends are original recipes and are hand-crafted at our warehouse here in Denver. Both are offered for sale in as little as half ounce and in either bags or bottles. Savory Spice Shop also offers extracts, sauces, spice ware and even more specialty items.
