National Taiwan University of Science and technology, or NTUST, developed Taiwan’s first ever humanoid performer robot which they call JANET NTUST robot. Professor Lin Chi-Yu of the Department of Mechanical Engineering leads the project and said that this performer robot can not only sing and talk but can also walk and do several other actions.

The researchers at NTUST are planning to use this humanoid robot on a trial basis doing some small scale performances. They hope to release this robot together with its partner robot Thomas in the international market in the coming years.

The Janet robot was designed to have interactive functions. Its state-of-the-art technology was created through the effort of the Taiwanese institution and some Japanese robotic laboratories.
