Rola is an assistant robot designed by the National Chiao Tung University of Taiwan in 2009. There had been a mass shortage of healthcare workers in many countries, prompting the university to create a highly-functional robot to assist healthcare providers in supplying quality services to patients.

Rola can roam around a hospital or waiting room and provide information to people, such as the schedule of clinicians, drug information, and more. It has drawers where medical personnel can store medicine and other objects for easy access, and can also perform as a private nurse’s aide in the homes of the elderly.
