The 5M Project covers 4 acres between 5th, Mission, and Howard streets in downtown San Francisco. Over the next several years, a phased development will transition the site from its current mix of office buildings and surface parking lots to include new open spaces and an assortment of low-, mid-, and high-rise buildings for office use, housing, and public gathering.

Anchored by the San Francisco Chronicle Building at 5th and Mission, the 5M Project would include three new buildings: 1 office and 2 residential. About 50,000 square feet of new public open space would be created as part of the project. As part of the project’s community benefits, 5M will have 33% affordable housing—a total of 212 affordable units, with many dedicated to families and seniors.
