Driven by the desire to provide genuine hospitality—for our guests and our employees—we offer a setting where people truly care about one another, and show it in everything they do. The high level of respect and enthusiasm that runs through our entire organization is evident in many ways, including the longevity of our staff and managers, some of whom have been with us for decades.
From the very start in 1978, at our first location on State Street in Chicago, we have been asking our employees to play a key role in our success: giving their honest input. We have used their contributions to build a national chain with several international locations. More than 30 years later, our success still depends upon that of our people, who are encouraged during our Quality Circle meetings to voice their opinions, ideas, concerns and suggestions for ways to improve what we do, and how we do it.
Yet our achievements are not limited to our restaurants. In fact, we are quite committed to community service, helping to support the neighborhoods we serve on both a local and national basis. Join our team, and experience our uniquely satisfying culture for yourself.
Morton’s The Steakhouse
Executive Chef John Rey
Executive Chef John Rey joined Morton’s The Steakhouse in Atlantic City in 2009. For the year prior, Chef Rey was a Traveling Chef, working in Morton’s locations from Houston to Hartford and several places in between.
Chef John began his culinary career cooking for officers in the U.S. Navy, where he served aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Saratoga. When the tour ended, his passion for food did not.
John returned to his hometown of Akron, Ohio and held positions in upscale kitchens, eventually setting at Firestone Country Club as the PM Sous Chef. He also worked for Hyde Park Restaurant Systems in Akron and Columbus, Ohio.
John currently resides in Manahawkin with his wife and two daughters.
