The Vara is elevated living with an elevated price tag

For San Francisco Apartments, Vara is about as good as it gets. It is sandwiched in the middle of The Mission — center of all things fun — and is a mere block away from the BART station. The price tag mirrors SFs typical ridiculous housing market, but the amenities add value that makes the gut punch price a bit easier to stomach. The managing staff for Vara exceeds all and the community activities border on ridiculous luxury — I’m talking happy hours (yes, that is free alcohol) every Friday, cooking classes twice a month, yoga classes twice a month, free weekend brunch, etc. And the big sell for me was the no weight restriction pet policy. This place is about as dog friendly as they come. They even have free dog treats in the lobby.

This 202-unit building is a mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. Building amenities include an interior courtyard, a fitness center, and a “tech room for getting work done.” There’s a one-bedroom in the $3,945 range available now, a one-bedroom around $5,287 coming up in mid-June, and a one-bedroom around $4,564 coming up in mid-July.
