Texas Instruments Reportedly Could Acquire Maxim Integrated Products

Texas Instruments reportedly is in talks to acquire San Jose-based Maxim Integrated Products.

The report comes from Bloomberg, which on Wednesday cited people close to the deal. The report also stated that Maxim has received interest from Massachusetts-based Analog Devices.

Dallas-based Texas Instruments declined to comment.

Texas Instruments’ most recent acquisition was of National Semiconductor Corp.in 2011. The company has not participated in the semiconductor industry’s merger and acquisition activity this year.

 

People close to the deal are saying the Dallas-based company could purchase the San Jose competitor, Bloomberg reports.
