Delta Hotels

Delta Hotels and Resorts is a four-star brand of hotels and resorts located primarily in Canada, with the first hotel in the United States added in 2015. The chain is wholly owned by Marriott International.

Delta was founded by William Pattison in 1962 in Richmond, British Columbia with a single 62-room motor inn called Delport Inn and expanded across British Columbia by 1970.

Delta once had a hotel in the United States, the Delta Court of Flags Hotel, located in Orlando, Florida, however, it was closed sometime after 1996 and has subsequently been demolished. On October 2, 2007, British Columbia Investment Management Corporation announced that it had acquired Delta Hotels. The hotel chain was a 100% holding of Fairmont Hotels and Resortsfrom 1998 to 2007. Delta’s corporate head office is at 77 King Street West (Toronto-Dominion Centre Royal Trust Tower).

Delta’s specific branding includes the Delta Privilege rewards program and “Signature Club” executive floor rooms that feature extra amenities and included breakfast.

On March 31, 2015, Marriott International acquired Delta Hotels from BC Investment Management Corporation.[6] Delta is now a wholly owned brand of Marriott and is included in the Marriott Rewards Loyalty program as of early 2016.
