Facebook’s Footprint Expands Into Fremont

Facebook has inked a 190K SF lease in Fremont. The social media company has leased space in two office buildings in the Ardenwood district that could provide room for 950 workers, the East Bay Times reports. The two buildings are owned by The Sobrato Organization. One lease was for 100K SF at 6530 Paseo Padre Parkway and the other lease was for 90K SF at 6422 Commerce Drive.

This Fremont district has been getting attention by major companies in recent months. Tesla also leased 235K SF in October at property owned by Peery Arrillaga that could hold 1,000 additional workers. The two buildings are at 6800 and 6900 Dumbarton Circle.

Facebook has made huge plays for additional space throughout the Bay Area, signing a lease of over 436K SF for the entire office space at 181 Fremont. It also is working toward developing its Willow Campus in Menlo Park, which will includ e about 1.8M SF of offices, 1,500 housing units and 125K SF of retail.
