Evernote

Evernote is a cross-platform, freemium app designed for note taking, organizing, and archiving. It is developed by the Evernote Corporation, a private company headquartered in Redwood City, California. The app allows users to create a “note” which can be a piece of formatted text, a full webpage or webpage excerpt, a photograph, a voice memo, or a handwritten “ink” note. Notes can also have file attachments. Notebooks can be added to a stack while notes can be sorted into a notebook, tagged, annotated, edited, given comments, searched, and exported as part of a notebook.

Evernote supports a number of operating system platforms (including OS X, iOS, Chrome OS, Android, Microsoft Windows, Windows Phone, BlackBerry 10, and webOS) and also offers online synchronization and backup services.

Evernote is available in a paid version or a more restricted free version. Use of the online service is free up to a certain monthly usage limit, with additional monthly use reserved for Plus subscribers, and unlimited monthly use for Premium customers.

Phil Libin

Phil Libin (1972[1]) was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia in 1972, and moved to America when he was 8 years old.[2] He served as CEO of the Silicon Valley-based software company Evernote from 2007 to 2015, and currently serves as Executive Chairman.[3][4] In September 2015, Libin joined General Catalyst Partners as its fourth general partner in Silicon Valley. [5]

Prior to joining Evernote, Libin founded and served as president of CoreStreet, a company that provided credential and identity management technologies to governments and large corporations. In 2009, CoreStreet was acquired by ActivIdentity,[6] now owned by HID Global.[7] Libin was also founder and CEO of Engine 5, a Boston-based Internet software development company acquired by Vignette Corporation (VIGN) in 2000 for $26 million.[8] Post-acquisition, Libin served as principal architect and chief technologist for applications at Vignette.

Libin graduated from Bronx Science in 1989 and attended Boston University with a concentration in Computer Science,[9] but did not complete his degree.
