Razer Inc. (stylized as RΛZΞR) is an American company founded by Min-Liang Tan, Matthew Thompson and Robert Krakoff, which specializes in products marketed specifically to gamers. Razer is dedicated to the creation and development of products mainly focused on PC gaming such as gaming laptops, gaming tablet computer, various PC gaming peripherals and accessories. The Razer brand is currently being marketed under Razer USA Ltd. Razer has become a very popular brand among PC gamers around the world.

Min-Liang Tan

Min-Liang Tan (Traditional Chinese: 陳民亮, Simplified Chinese: 陈民亮) is a Singaporean entrepreneur. He is best known as the co-founder, CEO and Creative Director of gaming hardware company, Razer Inc.. He directs and oversees the design and development of all Razer products.[2] Tan was a lawyer before he co-founded Razer with Robert Krakoff.[3]

Tan was named “Top 10 Most Influential Leaders in Tech” in 2015 by Juniper Research, ahead of other leaders such as Elon Musk of Tesla and Space X and Jack Ma of Alibaba.[4] Tan has been named one of “The 25 Most Creative People in Tech” by Business Insider together with Jonathan Ive and Gabe Newell.[5] He has also been ranked one of the top 40 most powerful people in gaming by Kotaku in their “The Kotaku Power 40” list.[6] Tan was also ranked No 1 of the 30 top South East Asia tech founders by TechinAsia.[7]

He has also won awards from his alma mater, the National University of Singapore, who has awarded him with the Outstanding NUS Innovator Award[8] in 2011 and as one of their Outstanding Young Alumni [9]in 2015.

Tan has a cult-like following worldwide and his fans have created fansites of him as well as even tattooed Tan’s name on themselves.[10]

Tan is a founding member of the Open Source Virtual Reality platform, which aims to create a common standard for VR program design. The next frontier for Razer has been said to lie in the realm of virtual reality, and Tan hopes to create an entire virtual reality industry, citing that the prospects are “phenomenal” in entertainment, health care and military applications.

Tan attended Raffles Institution prior to attending university and graduated from the National University of Singapore Faculty of Law.Tan was ranked top 20[14] in his post-graduate law class when he graduated in 2002.
