Pitch Deck Examples from successful startups
Pitch Deck Examples from successful startups
Airbnb Pitch Deck
This is one of the most searched pitch deck references in the internet, probably because it’s a company so familiar to us all. As you will see, this is a classic 10 Slide Investor Pitch Deck template, not too far from Dave McClure’s Startup Viagra.
We’ve also taken the liberty of redesigning the original pitch deck using Slidebean’s pitch deck templates, and wrote a full article about the process and a teardown of the original content. You can find that here:

The killer slide in this presentation is their business model slide, because it lays out their revenue model in the simplest possible way. They make a 10% commission on each transaction, period.
Also, notice how simple the problem slide has been laid out on the presentation: 3 simple bullets are enough to portray the problem.
Even though we redesigned the original presentation with our pitch deck template, the simplicity and the small amount of elements in each slide was inherent from the original deck. As we’ve mentioned before, less is more when talking about presentations.
Intercom Pitch Deck

Intercom has become the backbone of many SaaS businesses around the world. With staggering growth, a profitable operation and a recent Series C round of over $50MM, Intercom is on a path to become the next unicorn in Silicon Valley.
But big things have small beginnings. They recently released the slides they used to raise their first, $600K convertible note, and we’ve taken the liberty or redesigning the slides for you.

Buffer Pitch Deck
I’m a big fan of Buffer’s transparency policy, so finding their pitch deck was a pleasant surprise. This deck was used for their first venture round, with little under 1,000 paying users and about $150,000 annual run rate.
Again, we took the original pitch deck and redesigned it on Slidebean:
- Cover
- Quotes from Market Leaders
- Question for the audience
- Product
- Traction << KILLER SLIDE RIGHT HERE!
- Milestones
- Business Model
- Social Media Landscape
- The effect of Buffering
- A Sharing Standard
- Competitive Landscape
- Team
- Contact/Closure
Their traction slide is pure Startup Viagra! In a single slide, their pitch deck went from ‘interesting concept’ to ‘company with traction’. They also rely heavily on quotes, which they gather from industry leaders or press publications about their company: credibility.
Slidebean Pitch Deck
Our pitch deck at the 500 Startups demo day was the culmination of a 2 startup accelerator process, hours of rehearsal and dozens of adjustments thanks to the feedback from our mentors.
Pitching on a Demo Day event is very different from pitching to an investor on a one-on-one meeting. I’ve blogged about it before:

Furthermore, if we advertise Slidebean as a pitch deck builder, our presentations need to ROCK, which does put a lot of pressure for any demo day or on stage pitches we need to do.
Here’s a video of our pitch in the 500 Startups demo day in Mountain View.
And here are the slides for that presentation:
