UiPath was founded in 2005 by the Romanian entrepreneurs, Daniel Dines and Marius Tircais a global software company that develops a platform for Robotic Process Automation (RPA). The company started from Bucharest, Romania and later opened offices in London, New York, Bengaluru, Singapore, and Tokyo. In 2017, the company reported 590 employees and moved its headquarters to New York to be closer to its international customer base, which rose to 700 customers from 100 in 2016.

UiPath designs and develops robotic process automation software. The platform offers foolproof development tool, automation of intricate processes, enhanced control, cloud and on-premise deployment, robust governance, and multiple robots on a single virtual machine.

UiPath also provides UiPath Studio that models automation visually, UiPath Orchestrator that manages critical enterprise duties, and UiPath Robot that performs processes. It caters to finance and banking, insurance, healthcare, telecom, manufacturing, BPOs, and shared service organizations.

Daniel Dines and Marius Tirca founded UiPath in 2005, with its headquarters in New York City. It has additional offices in London in the United Kingdom, Paris in France, Bucharest in Romania, Tokyo in Japan, Singapore, Bengaluru in India, and Melbourne in Australia.

Funding
In August 2015, UiPath closed an initial seed funding round of $1.6 million led by the Earlybird, with Credo Ventures and Seedcamp as backers.

In April 2017, UiPath received $30 million investment in one of the biggest Series A rounds of funding in Europe, led by Accel. Previous investors Earlybird Venture Capital, Credo Ventures and Seedcamp also joined.

On March 6, 2018, UiPath received a $153 million investment from Accel, CapitalG, and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, valuing the company at $1.1 billion.

On Sep 18, 2018, UiPath raised $225 in the funding round led by CapitalG & Sequoia Capital.

Recognitions & Awards
On May 4, 2018, UiPath was named CFO tech company to watch in 2018.

On May 7, 2018, UiPath was named to Crain’s Tech25 in New York City.

In June 2018, Forrester placed UiPath in the top position for its 2nd annual Forrester Wave for Robotic Process Automation. UiPath earned the top spot in current market offering, strategy and market presence.
