Profile

Fordham University was founded in 1841 in New York City as a small private men’s college called St. John’s College. Since then, the Jesuit university has expanded to become a coeducational university with campuses in the Bronx, Manhattan and Westchester County. Fordham offers more than 60 undergraduate degrees and gives students the opportunity to learn from the city around them. The university’s partnerships with the New York Botanical Garden and Bronx Zoo/Wildlife Conservation Society provide research opportunities for students; at the Juilliard School, advanced music majors can take courses for credit.Fordham is also committed to helping veterans gain access to education, and it increased its Yellow Ribbon commitment to cover all tuition and fees for eligible vets. Since 2003, 108 Fordham students have received Fulbright Scholarships, and 1,207 have received other awards or scholarships. The Fordham Rams are members of NCAA Division I, competing in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
