Profile

Gustavus Adolphus College, rooted in a Swedish and Lutheran heritage, is a private liberal arts college established in 1862. Located in St. Peter, MN, the college is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, offers daily chapel services during the academic year, and has 7 student run religious organizations. Students can take part in the “3 Crowns Curriculum,” which challenges their way of thinking critically, and fulfills their general education requirements. Forty percent of students participate in a fine arts program, and the college hosts a renowned artists’ lecture series for students. Writing Across Curriculum (WAC) is an innovative writing program where students take intensive writing courses in different disciplines coupled with faculty collaboration. During the winter, students go “traying” by taking cafeteria trays and sledding down hills around campus. Gustavus Adolphus is a member of Division III athletics and has 30 intramural clubs and 9 club sports.
