Corner Bakery Cafe is a U.S. chain of cafes that specialize in pastries, breads, breakfast dishes, gourmet sandwiches, homemade soups, salads, and pasta. Corner Bakery Cafe is considered to be a part of the fast casual market segment of the food service industry, offering a somewhat higher quality of food and atmosphere than a typical fast food restaurant, and offering limited table service.

Corner Bakery Cafe is owned by CBC Restaurant Corporation, an affiliate of Il Fornaio (America) Corporation based in DallasTexas. It was sold to Il Fornaio in 2005 by Brinker International and founded by Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises, a Chicago theme restaurant operator.

Roark Capital Group bought Il Fornaio in 2011.[1]

Corner Bakery’s CEO is Mike Hislop and President is Gary Price. Mike came on as COO after the sale to CBC Restaurant Corporation. Gary joined the company in 2012. Jim Vinz the previous President & COO had been with the company in various capacities since 1995 and was promoted to COO in 2005 and President in 2006.


The cafe has 147 locations nationwide, including in MiamiLos AngelesSan DiegoChicagoHoustonSan AntonioDallasAustin,PhiladelphiaAtlantaDenverSalt Lake CityPhoenixEl PasoBaltimoreWashington, D.C. and Buffalo metropolitan areas, as well as inNorthern CaliforniaMississippiNew JerseyVirginiaEast Texas, and the Rio Grande Valley. Locations are to be added on the east cost of the US (RI, CT, and MA) starting in summer 2013. The 1st location of the very first cafe in New England was announced on April 16th, 2013 and that location will be a 5,850 square foot eatery located at Garden City Center in Cranston, RI. The opening date of this location will be November/December 2013. More New England locations are to be announced.
